As the summer sun blazes overhead, there’s nothing quite as refreshing as a chilled drink to quench your thirst and cool you down. Their icy texture and vibrant flavors make them a delightful indulgence, and they can be found at various cafes, convenience stores, and even roadside stands. However, while store-bought slushies may offer convenience, they often come loaded with artificial flavors and excessive sugars.

Ingredients

4 cups watermelon, cubed and seeded

1 cup ice cubes

1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)

1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Watermelon: Start by cutting the watermelon into cubes. Make sure to remove any seeds and use seedless watermelon for a smoother slushie.

Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the watermelon cubes, ice cubes, lime juice, and honey or agave syrup. Blend on high speed until everything is smooth and well combined.

Check Consistency: If the slushie is too thick for your liking, you can add a little bit of cold water to thin it out and blend again until desired consistency is reached.

Taste and Adjust: Pause the blender to taste the slushie. If you desire more sweetness, add additional honey or agave and blend again.

Serve: Pour the watermelon slushie into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.

Enjoy Immediately: Serve immediately as it’s best consumed fresh while icy and frosty!
