Ingredients

2 cans of crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1/4 cup sour cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries for topping, optional)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional for added flavor)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, stir in the sour cream and lemon zest (if using) until well combined.

Roll out the Crescent Dough: Open the cans of crescent roll dough and carefully unroll them. You will need to create a single layer of dough at the bottom of the greased baking dish. Lay the triangles close together, ensuring they cover the entire bottom of the dish. Press the seams together to form a solid crust.

Spread the Cream Cheese Mixture: Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll crust, spreading it evenly to cover all edges.

Top with Remaining Dough: Take the second can of crescent roll dough, unroll and separate the triangles. This time, you'll lay them over the top of the cream cheese layer, again pressing the seams together gently to seal.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.

Cool and Dust: Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes. Dust the top with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.

Serve: Slice into squares and serve warm or chilled, topped with fresh berries if desired. Enjoy your cheesecake cuddle rolls!
