Ingredients

2 cups pretzel sticks

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup granulated sugar

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 pkg (6 oz) strawberry gelatin

2 cups boiling water

1 cup cold water

Instructions

Prepare the Pretzel Crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Crush the pretzel sticks using a rolling pin or food processor until they resemble coarse crumbs. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to form an even layer. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.

Make the Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined and fluffy. Gently fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and light. Spread this cream cheese layer evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.

Prepare the Strawberry Layer: In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Once dissolved, stir in the cold water. Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes.

Combine with Strawberries: Add the sliced strawberries to the gelatin mixture and stir gently. Then, pour this strawberry layer over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.

Chill and Serve: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight for best results) until the gelatin is fully set. Once set, cut into squares and enjoy!
