Ingredients

2 everything bagels

4 oz smoked salmon

4 oz cream cheese (plain or herbed)

1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced

1 tbsp capers, rinsed and drained

1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)

Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Prep the Bagels: Begin by slicing the bagels in half and toasting them lightly until they reach your desired level of crispness. This will enhance the texture and flavor of the bagels.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Spread: In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese with chopped dill and a pinch of black pepper. If you’re using herbed cream cheese, you can skip this step.

Assemble the Bagels: Spread a generous layer of the dill cream cheese mixture on each toasted half of the bagels.

Layer the Ingredients: Place a few slices of smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese. Then, add a layer of cucumber slices, followed by a sprinkle of red onion and a few capers on each bagel half.

Add Final Touches: Season each bagel with freshly cracked black pepper to taste.

Serve: Serve the bagels open-faced with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of brightness.
