Ingredients

1 pound (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, julienned

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss well to coat the beef and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes while you prep the veggies.

Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, wash and cut the broccoli into florets, and julienne the red bell pepper. Set aside.

Heat the Wok: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Veggies: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the broccoli and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the veggies are tender-crisp.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Drizzle with sesame oil and toss everything together, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes to combine flavors.

Serve: Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for an extra touch.
