Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or semi-sweet, based on preference)

1/2 cup soft caramel candies, chopped into small pieces

Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling on top

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

      Cream the Butter and Sugars:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

          Add Eggs and Vanilla:

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

              Combine Dry Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet mixture, blending on low speed until just combined.

                  Fold in Chocolate and Caramel:

Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped caramel candies with a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

                      Scoop the Dough:

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

                          Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers look set.

                              Add Sea Salt:

As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie to enhance the flavor.

                                  Cool:

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

                                      Serve:

Enjoy these decadent salted caramel chocolate cookies warm, or store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week (if they last that long!).
