Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch of asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare Ingredients: Before you start cooking, ensure the shrimp are peeled and deveined, and the asparagus is trimmed. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley.

Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.

Cook the Asparagus: Add the asparagus pieces to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper. Once cooked, remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and 4 cloves of minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Combine and Season: Once the shrimp are cooked, return the asparagus to the skillet. Add the red pepper flakes (if using), lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss everything together gently over the heat for another minute to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve: Remove from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.
