Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Create the Creamy Base: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir well to combine, letting it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the creamy garlic sauce. Toss to coat the pasta. If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

Add Shrimp and Lemon: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Drizzle with lemon juice, and gently toss everything together until well combined.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
