Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This step will ensure a nice sear on the shrimp.

Season: In a bowl, combine the shrimp with salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking, about 2 minutes.

Cook the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but be careful not to let it burn.

Add the Shrimp: Carefully add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque.

Flip and Finish: Flip the shrimp using tongs and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the other side is also pink and fully cooked. Pour in the lemon juice during the last minute of cooking.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat, sprinkle the chopped parsley over the shrimp, and give a gentle toss to combine. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
