Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Drumsticks: In a large bowl or zip-top bag, combine the chicken drumsticks with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and minced garlic. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.

Make the Glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and thyme until well combined. Reserve half of the glaze for later.

Marinate: Pour the remaining glaze over the drumsticks. Cover the bowl or seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Bake the Drumsticks: Arrange the marinated drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, trying to leave space between each piece. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Glaze and Finish: During the last 5-7 minutes of baking, brush the drumsticks with the reserved maple mustard glaze. Return to the oven to caramelize the glaze slightly.

Serve: Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot!
