Ingredients

2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder

1 cup alkaline or filtered water (heated to about 175°F / 80°C)

1 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, coconut, or dairy)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to sweetness preference)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Ice cubes

Sifted matcha powder (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Whisk the Matcha: In a small bowl, add the matcha powder. Pour in the heated water and use a bamboo whisk or a small electric frother to whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy. Make sure there are no lumps.

Mix the Sweetener: In another cup, combine the milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract (if using). Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved in the milk.

Prepare Your Glass: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.

Layer and Serve: Pour the sweetened milk over the ice. Then, gently pour the whisked matcha over the milk using the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.

Garnish: For an extra touch, you can sprinkle a tiny amount of sifted matcha powder on top.

Enjoy: Stir the layers together before sipping for a beautiful blend of creaminess and matcha goodness.
