Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, apple cider vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside half of the marinade for later.

Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken thighs in a shallow dish or a resealable bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Add chicken to the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

Glaze with Sauce: Once the chicken is cooked, pour the remaining marinade into the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and glaze the chicken. Turn the chicken a few times to ensure it’s well coated.

Serve: Transfer the glazed chicken to a serving platter. Drizzle with any remaining sauce from the skillet. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Enjoy: Serve the honey garlic chicken hot, accompanied by steamed rice or your choice of vegetables.
