4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

For the Crumble Topping:

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, diced

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

For Serving:

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    Prepare the Banana Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced bananas with lemon juice, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Gently toss until the bananas are well coated.

      Make the Crumble Topping: In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold diced butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. If you’re adding walnuts, stir them in now.

        Assemble the Dish: Spread the banana mixture evenly in a greased 9-inch (23 cm) baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the bananas.

          Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the bananas are bubbly.
