Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup almond flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (for a vegan option)

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (preferably dairy-free)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for added crunch (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Stir until combined.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet mixture, stirring well until everything is combined. Don’t overmix!

Add Chocolate and Nuts: Fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) into the dough until evenly distributed.

Scoop Cookies: Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each cookie slightly as they won’t spread much while baking.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are set and slightly firm to the touch.

Cool: Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy: Once cooled, enjoy your healthy banana chocolate cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite non-dairy alternative!
