Ingredients

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained and flaked

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup green chilies, diced (canned or roasted)

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

12 slider buns

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Additional shredded cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, diced green chilies, red onion, and chopped cilantro (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.

Assemble the Sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the tuna mixture over the bottom halves, pressing down lightly to ensure it holds together. If desired, sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top of the tuna mixture for added gooeyness.

Add the Tops: Place the top halves of the slider buns over the tuna mixture.

Butter the Buns: In a small bowl, mix melted butter with a pinch of salt. Brush this mixture over the tops of the slider buns to enhance flavor and achieve a golden-brown finish.

Bake the Sliders: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before cutting them into individual sliders. Serve warm with a side of pickles or chips for a complete meal.
