Ingredients

2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped

1/2 cup white vinegar

1/2 cup water

2 tbsp sugar (or honey, for a healthier option)

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

Prepare the Cucumbers: Wash the cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) using a sharp knife or a mandoline for even slices. Place the cucumber slices in a large bowl.

Make the Marinade: In a separate bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, water, sugar (or honey), minced garlic, chopped dill, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), and onion powder until the sugar has dissolved completely.

Combine and Marinate: Pour the marinade over the cucumbers in the bowl. Toss gently but thoroughly to ensure all the cucumber slices are well coated in the marinade.

Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the cucumbers and marinade into a large mason jar. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. For the best results, let them marinate for 4-6 hours, or even overnight.

Serve: Once marinated, give the cucumbers a gentle stir. Serve chilled with additional dill on top as a garnish if desired. These Garlic Dill Cucumbers make an excellent side dish or a refreshing snack!
