The origins of s’mores can be traced back to the early 20th century, with the first recorded recipe appearing in a Girl Scouts publication in 1927. The name "s'mores" is a contraction of "some more," reflecting the irresistible nature of this sweet treat. Traditionally, s’mores are made with three key ingredients: graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. Each component plays a vital role in creating the perfect balance of flavors and textures—crunchy, creamy, sweet, and slightly smoky from the toasted marshmallows.

Ingredients

2 cups granola (your favorite variety or homemade)

1 cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)

1/2 cup mini marshmallows

1/2 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, or a mix)

1/4 cup crushed graham crackers

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Prepare the Base: In a large bowl, combine the granola, crushed graham crackers, and a pinch of sea salt. Mix until well combined.

Make the Yogurt Mixture: In another bowl, blend the Greek yogurt with honey or maple syrup. Stir in half of the mini marshmallows and half of the chocolate chips, incorporating them evenly.

Combine Ingredients: Gently fold the yogurt mixture into the granola mixture until all pieces are coated. Make sure not to break up the granola too much.

Form the Rounds: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take about 2 tablespoons of the mixture and form it into a round shape. Repeat, placing the rounds on the parchment paper, leaving a little space between each.

Top it Off: Once all rounds are formed, sprinkle the remaining mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on top of each round for extra flair and flavor.

Freeze: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 2-3 hours or until the granola rounds are completely frozen.

Serve: Once frozen, remove the rounds from the parchment paper. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for a quick treat anytime. Enjoy your delicious creation!
