8 oz (225g) fettuccine or spaghetti

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Extra grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

    Make the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

      Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine with the garlic. Let it simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to thicken slightly.

        Incorporate Cheese: Gradually add in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese has fully melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
