Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with 2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Cooked jasmine or brown rice, for serving

Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for about 10 minutes while preparing the vegetables.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and cornstarch-water mixture. Stir until combined and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the beef is browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in the broccoli florets and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the sauce mixture and toss everything together, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. This should take an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot over a bed of jasmine or brown rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and crunch.
