Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prep the Pork Chops: Season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Ensure all sides are well coated.

Sear the Chops: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté Onions and Garlic: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Create the Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the pan to loosen any flavorful bits. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and smoked paprika. Mix well and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.

Combine and Cook: Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it simmer on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and tender (internal temperature should reach 145°F / 63°C).

Finish and Serve: Remove the lid and let the sauce thicken slightly, about 5 more minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if required. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Enjoy Your Meal: Serve the smothered pork chops over rice, mashed potatoes, or with fresh bread to soak up the delicious sauce!
