For the Cake:

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk (or sour milk)

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

For the Peanut Butter Frosting:

1 cup creamy peanut butter

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

¼ cup heavy cream (or milk)

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Dark Chocolate Ganache:

1 cup dark chocolate chips

½ cup heavy cream

For Garnish:

Chopped peanuts

Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until thoroughly blended.

      Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

        Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Slowly add the boiling water to the batter (it will be thin).

          Bake the Cake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
