12 oz (340g) fettuccine or your pasta of choice

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup frozen peas (thawed)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon (optional for brightness)

Extra Parmesan for serving

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set the pasta aside.

    Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.

      Make the Creamy Sauce: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream. Stir gently, allowing it to warm through. Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
