Ingredients

12 oz (340 g) penne pasta

2 cups fresh broccoli florets

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups shredded white cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the penne according to package directions until al dente. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain and set aside.

Sauté the Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.

Make the Creamy Sauce: Reduce the heat to low, then slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow it to warm through for about 2 minutes.

Add the Cheeses: Gradually mix in the shredded white cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese, stirring until completely melted and combined. If desired, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes for a hint of heat. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Combine: Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet with the cheese sauce. Toss gently until everything is well coated.

Serve: Spoon the pasta into bowls, garnish with chopped parsley, and enjoy your creamy delight!
