For the Cake Base:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sour cream

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

½ cup powdered sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Swirl:

½ cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Topping:

½ cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

    Prepare the cake batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream until combined.

      Combine the dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the cream mixture, stirring until just combined (don’t overmix). Set aside.

        Make the cream cheese filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.

          Prepare the cinnamon swirl: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.

            Assemble the cake: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
