For the Bars:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ cup sour cream

For the Cinnamon Filling:

½ cup brown sugar, packed

2 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2-3 tbsp milk

½ tsp vanilla extract

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easier removal.

    Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

      Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon, mixing until well combined.

        Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

          Make the Cinnamon Filling: In a separate small bowl, stir together ½ cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and melted butter until combined.

            Assemble the Bars: Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with the cinnamon filling and swirl gently with a knife. Top with the remaining batter, smoothing it out evenly.

              Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before lifting out with the parchment paper and continuing to cool on a wire rack.

                Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, then mix in the milk and vanilla until you reach your desired consistency.

                  Glaze the Bars: Once cooled completely, drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the top of the bars. Let set for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
