Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup Italian breadcrumbs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Extra shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, Italian breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spatula to mix until everything is well incorporated.

Form the Meatballs: Scoop out approximately 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place the meatball on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process until all the mixture is used, spacing the meatballs about 1 inch apart.

Bake the Meatballs: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Heat the Marinara: While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a separate pot on medium heat until warmed through.

Combine with Sauce: Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven and add them directly into the pot of marinara sauce, gently stirring to coat the meatballs completely.

Top with Mozzarella: Transfer the meatballs and sauce into an oven-safe dish or keep them in the pot. Sprinkle extra shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Broil for a Cheesy Finish: Place the dish under the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately. These meatballs pair perfectly with spaghetti or a fresh side salad!
