Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 packet taco seasoning

½ cup chopped onion

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 large jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped (optional)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon chili powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Salsa (for dipping)

Instructions

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onions until translucent. Add the ground beef (or turkey) and taco seasoning. Cook until the meat is browned and completely cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. If you’re using jalapeño, add it in during the last couple of minutes of cooking. Drain any excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles, ensuring you don't break the seams. Lay the triangles out on the prepared baking sheet.

Fill the Dough: Spoon a generous amount of the meat mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Top with a mix of shredded cheddar and Mexican cheese.

Roll Up: Starting at the wide end, carefully roll the dough up over the filling toward the pointy end. Pinch the seams to seal them well, ensuring none of the cheesy goodness spills out during baking.

Apply Egg Wash: Place the rolled taco sticks seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

Season and Bake: Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder for extra flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the taco sticks from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve hot with a side of salsa for dipping.
