Ingredients

2 tubes of crescent roll dough

16 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for topping)

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for added zing)

Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries) for garnish

Whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter.

Add the Base Layer: Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough. Lay it flat on the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid layer.

Make the Cheesecake Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add in the granulated sugar, mixing until well combined. Then add the vanilla extract and lemon juice (if using), and mix again.

Incorporate the Eggs and Sour Cream: Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then fold in the sour cream until the mixture is creamy and smooth.

Spread the Cheesecake Mixture: Pour the cheesecake mixture over the crescent roll base in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Add the Top Layer: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough. Lay the pieces over the cheesecake mixture. Lightly press down to ensure it adheres to the filling.

Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheesecake is set.

Cool and Dust: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar over the top for a finishing touch.

Serve: Slice into squares and serve warm or chilled, garnished with fresh berries and a dollop of whipped cream.
