Ingredients

1 lb (450g) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

5 cloves of garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Dough: If using refrigerated pizza dough, let it come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes. This makes it easier to work with.

Shape the Knots: Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 8-10 inches long. Tie each rope into a knot, tucking the ends underneath for a neat appearance, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Make the Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.

Brush with Garlic Butter: Use a pastry brush to generously coat each knot with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring they are well-covered. Reserve some of the butter for brushing after baking.

Bake: Bake the garlic knots in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Finishing Touch: Once baked, remove the knots from the oven. Brush them again with the reserved garlic butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Serve: Allow the knots to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm as an appetizer, side dish, or even a delightful snack!
