Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Cinnamon Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Glaze:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well-combined.

      - Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

        - In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

          - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until the flour is incorporated. Avoid overmixing.

            Roll Out the Dough:

              - Lightly flour your work surface and transfer the dough onto it. Use a rolling pin to gently roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

                Make the Filling:

                  - In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until it forms a paste. Spread this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.

                    Form the Rolls:

                      - Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seam to seal it.

                        - Slice the log into 12 equal pieces (about 1.5 inches each) and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

                          First Rise:

                            - Cover the dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes, or until they double in size.

                              Bake the Rolls:

                                - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake them for 25-30 minutes or until they’re golden brown and cooked through.

                                  Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze:

                                    - While the rolls are baking, in a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. If needed, add milk to achieve a drizzling consistency.

                                      Glaze and Serve:

                                        - Once the rolls are baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the cream cheese glaze generously over the top. Serve warm and enjoy your delightful Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls!
