1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (or 2 tablespoons dried)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Marinara Sauce:

1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

A pinch of sugar (optional, to balance acidity)

For Serving:

Cooked pasta of choice (spaghetti works well)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Additional grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

    Prepare the Marinara Sauce:

      - In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

        - Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

          - Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

            - Add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.

              - Bring to a gentle simmer and let cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

                Make the Meatballs:

                  - In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

                    - Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

                      Shape the Meatballs:

                        - Using your hands or a scoop, form the turkey mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they're evenly spaced.

                          Bake the Meatballs:

                            - Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C).

                              Combine Meatballs with Sauce:

                                - Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the simmering marinara sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

                                  Serve:

                                    - Serve the turkey meatballs over your choice of cooked pasta. Top with fresh basil leaves and sprinkle additional grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Enjoy: Savor your delightful dish while sharing the joy of homemade goodness!
