Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1 avocado, sliced

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the chickpeas are evenly coated with the spices.

Once the air fryer is preheated, place the seasoned chickpeas in the fryer basket in a single layer. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket.

Air fry the chickpeas for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure an even crispiness. They should be golden brown and crunchy.

While the chickpeas are cooking, warm the tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until pliable.

Once the chickpeas are done, assemble your tacos by placing a generous scoop of spicy chickpeas onto each tortilla.

Top the chickpeas with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and slices of avocado.

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
